So Sweet

"Oh God, you killed her!"

"She's not dead."

"Dude, she's dead!"

"Look—she's gasping for air. That's not dead."

"Then she's dying. Goddamn! Why the hell did you shoot her, man?"

"She betrayed me."

"So you killed her? Jesus!"

"She's probably seeing him now."

"Stop that! You need to do something. How the hell are—"

"No need. I have a letter. Murder-suicide."

"What?"

"Her, and her lover. Murder-suicide."

"Hey, don't point... No!"

THE END

Thoughts: I submitted this little story to On The Premises for their sixth mini-contest. The requirements were simple: Write a story in 25–75 words using only dialogue. Seems easy, right? In theory. I tried a few different stories but none took. At the last minute, I was able to knock one out that I thought was decent.

That story was "So Sweet"—posted here because it obviously lost. Haha.
